Winter in Buffalo-Niagara |
The temperatures have been around -10 (Celcius) recently. The flow of water in the Niagara river around the Niagara Falls is too fast for the river to freeze under these temperatures, but you can see ice floating in the water.
... And the Horse shoe fall looks really chilly!!!
Horseshoe
Fall: another angle
Ice bridge forms across the Niagara river, connecting the U.S.
and Canadian sides. This usually lasts until April but not every
year it is formed at all because the weather has been warmer in
recent years. This year we are lucky (?!)

view
Trees around the falls are completely covered in ice. This is
frozen mist rising from the falls.
The Niagara river in winter is a magnificient sight that is something completely
different from summer!

As the winter continues, the ice bridge is getting thicker
... But the spring is clearly getting closer!

Buffalo and its vicinity are excellent places for winter sports.
