SYLLABUS SCHEDULE COMMUNICATION HELP Site Map
.
This course uses three websites and they are:

World Civilization I: http://www.cas.buffalo.edu/classes/his/hischaos
This is the "main" Webpage.  It consists of the following:
  • Syllabus-the instructor and teaching assistants' information, class expectations, required textbooks, grading policy, class regulations, attendance policy, and rules regarding plagiarism.
  • Schedule-a weekly calendar of the topics to be discussed, readings to be completed, assignments due, and exam dates. In addition, there are links to key terms to be studied, images that will be discussed in class, and key points of the lectures.
  • Communication-this page links to a separate, password protected website [UBLearns/Blackboard] where you will find special course announcements and, most importantly, power point files for course lectures. Additionally, this site allows students, teaching assistants, and the professor to communicate, share files, virtually chat, and participate in discussion forums, if they so wish.
  • Help-explains how to use the many online tools available for this class.
  • Site Map-a navigation aid to get you through the multiple pages of this site quickly and easily.
Communication Module: http://ublearns.buffalo.edu/
This website opens to the "portal," or opening page, of the UBLearns system. From here, you can log-in, access your list of courses for this semester and, by clicking on our course, UGC111R, you can then access our own UBLearns course site.

On this site, you will find special course announcements and, most importantly, power point files for course lectures. You may to use this site to send class e-mail, participate in discussion forums, engage in the virtual classroom, and communicate with your recitation group.

This portion of the site is password protected and open only to students registered for this class.  In the box labeled USER NAME enter your UB IT name.  In the box labeled PASSWORD enter your password for your UB IT account.
